Multi Met commits to highest ESG standards in its supply chain
Multi Met Trading (MMT), a metals trader based in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has outlined its policy regarding ethical, social, and environmental standards across the global supply chain.
The company is committed to the highest standards to ensure integrity, transparency, and responsibility in all supply chain activities, with a particular focus on high-value transactions like precious metals.
At the core of the initiative is a zero-tolerance stance on human rights violations, specifically targeting child labor and forced labor. The company mandates that all suppliers provide safe working conditions and fair wages while respecting collective bargaining rights.
Environmental stewardship is equally prioritized, requiring partners to implement resource efficiency and waste minimization strategies to reduce their collective carbon footprint.
“This commitment is vital for building trust, mitigating risk, ensuring sustainability, and meeting regulatory requirements,” MMT said in a statement.
This policy applies globally to all operations of the company, as well as its subsidiaries, employees, contractors, suppliers, customers, and partners involved in any stage of the supply chain. It also ensures the company is in strict adherence with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) rules, regardless of geographic location.
To ensure accountability, MMT is appointing a dedicated force of Supply Chain Officers, and implementing annual policy reviews. Thanks to these measures, the company aims to foster a culture of transparency and legal sourcing throughout its international supply network.
